Multi-Device Sites – Game Changer for the Businesses

Nowadays, people are connected online almost 24/7. There is no doubt that the smartphones have significantly changed the way people communicate with each other and obtain the desired information by accessing the internet. However, the changes are not limited to the mobile usage only. They are also extended  to the multi-device web access. Today, there are various kinds of devices through which the people can access the web such as the laptops, tablets, mobile devices and PCs of different screen sizes.   The users jump or move from one device to another to execute a single task. Some of them take a picture through a smartphone or gather the desired information on a tablet and carry out shopping on a PC or laptop.

Multi-Screening Influences Designing and Selling on the Internet

It cannot be argued, this multi-screen option is very useful for the people, but at the same time, this fragmented use of the internet may be quite challenging for the businesses. Good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies, themes, content and other factors used to develop a website will not yield rich dividends, if the users cannot view it appropriately on their devices. The business owners must devote their attention towards formulating multi-device web strategies to enhance user-experience. Here are some prominent tactics or tips that can be used to make a website multi-screen friendly, generate more customer engagement and improve conversions:

Track Visitors Searching Habits and Responses through Analytical Tools

A very important aspect of optimizing a site for the multi screen use is to determine the searching habits and responses of the customers. Take a closer look at your website traffic and figure out the sources from where the users visit your site, what kind of keyword they search and the kind of device they use for searching the information. A careful analysis of all these things will certainly help you a lot to pinpoint the areas that require your immediate attention.

Offer Different Options for the Users

A website must be flexible in order to adjust according to all screen sizes of the gadgets. Most of the companies prefer to create two unique versions of their website. A “Full Screen” version designed specifically for the laptops, TVs and desktop computers and a “Mobile Version” for the tablets, iPads and smartphones. The mobile version has a single URL for every web page that helps the search engines to crawl and index the site easily, helping you to improve visibility and traffic.

Focus on Browsers and Compatibility

It has to be made sure that the website can be viewed easily on different browsers in a hassle-free manner. Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc. are some of the common browsers used for viewing the sites. Make sure that your website is compatible in each of these browsers and for this purpose do not forget to test the site on every browser.

Avoid Some of the Common but BIG Problems

While focusing on optimizing a site for the multi-screen devices, there are some common mistakes that must be avoided:

  • The design of a site must be developed according to the gadgets users are using. This will really go on to provide seamless experience to the customers.
  • Optimize the online performance of the site by reducing the loading time by minimizing the usage of undesired pop ups, videos, flashes and images.
  • The content must be tailored or optimized for improving the customer engagement. This has never been more pivotal than in the multi-screen web experience.
  • If you want to redirect the users to another page or full view of the site, then it is imperative to configure the URL, so that the visitors do not get redirected to the wrong or faulty page. This will really annoy the customers and can affect conversion rates.

Have You Embraced the Multi-Device World?

It is crystal-clear that digging out deep to understand the multi-screen world, discovering how to navigate it and creating the suitable websites are indispensable for climbing the ladder of success. Become an architect of your business progress by crafting multi-device sites and improve the web experience by leaps and bounds.
