What is Froogle?

Froogle, also known as Google Product Search is a price campaign website which makes easy to find information about products, services for sale online. Any company can submit products individually or in bulk via Google Base at no cost.

What is Google Base?

Google base is a free service provided by Google for submitting all types of online and offline products, services which might be found on Froogle and Google Search engines.

How to submit Products in Froogle:

Step 1- Create an account in Google Base.

Step 2- You can submit your products one by one individually or in bulk amount by creating a data feed file.

How to create a Data Feed File?

You can create data feed file in two formats- tab-delimited (spreadsheet) or XML.

Tab delimited or spreadsheet file is very easy to build and manage the products information. In a spreadsheet program, attribute names will appear in the first row at the top of each column (your header row). Item details will be in the rows below your header row, under their respective attribute names. Attributes name may be title, description, price, link (product page), image link and etc.

XML format file can be creating by using the version of RSS1.0, RSS2.0, ATOM0.3, ATOM1.0.

You can create and edit these files using any text editor, such as Notepad, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, Editplus etc.

Once you will create data feed file, you will need to register it in the Google Base. To register your data feed please visit Google Base and fill the required fields. Now Google will ask you for submitting your feed in the Froogle.

Now click on the “Browse” button and select the data feed file from your system. Next click on “Upload file” link and process this file.

Uploading process may take some time, deepening on the size of your file. Once your file has been uploaded, you’ll see notification on your screen if the upload was a success. The status of any feed can be found in this Data feeds tab. It can take up to 24 hours for your file details to be updated in your account.
